I’m No. 2

I am the second born to Ivy and Donna Hutton. I have an older sister, a younger sister and three younger brothers and that sums up the Hutton kids. My dad passed away in 1965 at the tender age of 33 and left my mom a widow with this large brood. Fortunately, she found love again and in 1969, married the man who would be my dad for over 50 years now. They had two more daughters so we were now a bustling family of 10.

I was born on Washington Island in Orville Wylie’s home – just past the fire station. We moved to Sheboygan when I was just a baby, but my siblings and I spent many summer days on the Island with our grandparents, Marvin and Gudrun Jepsen. My memories are jammed packed from those days.

We moved from Sheboygan to Algoma the same year my Mom remarried. My high school years were spent in the idyllic lakeside community.

I’ve mostly lived in Wisconsin my entire life – most of it along the shores of Lake Michigan. I moved back to Sheboygan was I was 24 and have stayed put.

I’ve had good times and bad. I write more about the good times as they are easier to put into words, but you’ll find some darker times among my pieces. I am still attempting to put into words some of the times that I’ve found most difficult.

If you stumble across my blog, please stay awhile or come back often.

Happy Trails,

Mary
